Ragged Staff are a three-piece band who formed in February of 2008 in the village of Silsoe, Bedfordshire. Named after a 17th Century Inn, which once stood at Silsoe crossroads, the band play a mix of traditional folk music from Ireland, Scotland and England with contemporary music presented in a folk style.
Their musical arrangements cover a broad spectrum of songs and tunes, from the traditional jigs and reels of Ireland to Morris tunes of England to classic numbers from such greats as Lindisfarne and Kate Rusby.
Band members play a number of instruments, ranging from guitars, octave mandola, banjo, fiddle, whistle and bodhran. |
